The Challenge
GCT has been a trusted and established manufacturer of world-class connector and cable assembly solutions for over three decades. Their reputation for excellence has earned them the trust of companies worldwide, who rely on GCT’s products to drive connectivity within their designs across a range of industries.
After successfully completing a project for the building’s landlord, GCT reached out to us to provide a quote for the full fit-out of their new office space.
We were delighted to be considered for this phase of their office development. With a clear understanding of their vision and brand, we took on the opportunity to design a space that would meet their current needs and future growth aspirations.
The Solution
Our client tasked us with creating a modern and efficient workplace that would inspire their employees and foster a thriving work environment. A standout feature of the design was the creation of a large breakout area to offer employees a place to recharge, and build stronger connections. One of the most striking aspects was a custom wall graphic, featuring a colourful world map, symbolising GCT’s global presence
We also included playful elements such as a pool table and funky flooring to inject personality into the space. It was crucial to weave GCT’s branding seamlessly into the design. Their logo and corporate colours were integrated across various elements of the office—from the walls to glass manifestations, and even in the furniture selections.
What Oaktree Delivered
When creating the space, we focused on creating an open and airy environment by incorporating the use of glass for the office elevations. This maximised the flow of natural light, allowing it to reach both sides of the office.
Employee well-being was a top priority, and we took great care in selecting furniture that promoted comfort, flexibility, and long-term health. For example, all desks were sit-stand adjustable, enabling staff to work in their preferred position—whether seated or standing—promoting movement and reducing fatigue.
To ensure the functionality of the office met GCT’s specific needs, we built a dedicated comms room to house their essential equipment. Additionally, we incorporated a test bench area tailored with bespoke storage solutions, allowing GCT to efficiently manage their equipment and carry out tasks with ease. Every detail of the space was designed to support both day-to-day operations and long-term growth.
Our client was thrilled with the final outcome, and the new office space perfectly aligns with their vision. For us, working on this project was not only rewarding but also a fun and collaborative experience, allowing us to push the boundaries of creativity and functionality.
